Provider of DARE Programmes for New Zealand young people, their families and communities. This website is the official site for New Zealand designed DARE Programmes. These programmes have been written by New Zealander's for New Zealander's. In 2010, The DARE Foundation will have supported New Zealand children, parents and communities for 20 years, and we look forward to continuing this association.
The DARE Foundation - Skills for Life programmes seek to challenge children, parents and their communities. The programmes develop skills in decision-making, assertiveness, responsibility and esteem to enable them to make informed and supported choices for a powerful life.
DARE New Zealand and D.A.R.E. America are NOT the same. Although historically there were links between the two, we are now separate identities. For further information please read the document "A Question of Difference" which explains more fully the differences.
We are pleased to advise that recently NZ Police endorsed the two Community Programmes - DARE to be You and DARE to Move on. This endosement and support shows the strength of the NZ Police relationship with DFNZ as a key stakeholder and community partner. There are seven DARE programmes and these are the responsibility of the DARE Community and New Zealand Police.
An updated Letter of Agreement with NZ Police was signed in 2009. Please click on the lick for a copy of this letter.
