Since 1990 when DARE was developed in New Zealand, programme delivery has steadily grown from 24,000 participants to well over 54,000 in 2005.  In 2008 throughout New Zealand, accumulative programme delivery totalled over 657,980 hours; notably 40,000 of these hours were donated by volunteers wishing to both support and facilitate programme delivery in their local communities.
 
The DARE Foundation of New Zealand operate 3 community programmes - DARE to Support your Kids, came under the community programme umbrella in 2008.  DARE to be you, launched in 2007 and DARE to Move on launched in 2008. 
 
 In 2009 DARE to be You, DARE to Move On and DARE to Support your Kids had over 800 participants, plus continued to hold training programmes for facilitators of these programmes.
